Leanne Shelton—Navigating the Future of Copywriting with AI

Leanne Shelton’s career as an independent professional took off after the birth of her first child. Instead of returning to a traditional full-time job, she launched a copywriting business that steadily grew over the next decade.

With early encouragement from industry expert Kate Toon, featured in episode 47 of the Wisepreneurs Podcast, Leanne refined her skills and built a thriving copywriting and content marketing career. However, as AI became more widespread, she noticed a decline in copywriting opportunities. Realising AI’s growing impact on her business, she pivoted to AI training.

Cognitive Agility

This decision exemplifies cognitive agility—the ability to switch between different mental tasks, adapt to new information, and solve problems in dynamic situations. I explored this concept in depth during a conversation with Cedric Chin on episode 58, where we discussed its significance for business success.

Leanne offers various services today, including an additional income stream through her online AI DIY Club. Her deep understanding of human-centric content differentiates her from businesses that try to cut costs by relying solely on AI-generated copy. The risk of damaging your brand with subpar writing is real.

Leanne uses her copywriting experience to guide AI in producing high-quality content. While AI can enhance productivity, the human touch—creativity, empathy, and critical thinking—remains irreplaceable.

Professionals who learn to balance these elements will thrive, crafting content that deeply resonates with audiences and drives meaningful engagement in a rapidly changing world.

View AI as a Tool, Not a Replacement

Use AI to enhance and augment your work, not replace it. Treat it as an assistant for repetitive tasks, freeing you to focus on creativity. Engage with AI by asking questions or seeking ideas or recommendations. AI’s strength lies in access to a massive amount of data, so informed interaction is critical to maximising its benefits and avoiding misuse.

Leanne’s story illustrates how adapting to a changing market and balancing technology with human creativity can lead to lasting success.

The Strength Paradox: Why Your Routine and Diet Hold the Key to Aging Gracefully

Strength training and protein intake are crucial for maintaining muscle mass and overall health, especially as we age. Despite these significant benefits, many people in the US, Canada, and Australia don’t meet the recommended strength training guidelines. These guidelines are vital for enhancing muscle mass, increasing bone density, and reducing the risk of chronic disease.

The key to effective strength training lies not in the specific method used but in the consistency of practice. Regular engagement in any form of resistance training can yield significant health benefits over time.

Simultaneously, optimising protein intake is essential for muscle growth, particularly for older adults who may experience anabolic resistance, a condition in which muscle synthesis becomes less responsive to protein.

Dr Luc Van Loon suggests that consuming 1.2 to 1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight, distributed evenly across meals, can significantly enhance muscle protein synthesis.

For women over 60, combining consistent strength training with a strategic approach to protein intake helps maintain muscle mass, supports mobility, and improves overall quality of life, preserving your strength and independence as you age.

Spotlight on Eliška Šestáková: Unlocking the Power of Note-Taking for Independent Professionals

Eliška Šestáková, an academic and passionate note-taking enthusiast from the Czech Republic, teaches at the Faculty of Information Technology in Prague.

Her interest in systematic note-taking began during her PhD studies when she needed an efficient way to manage a large volume of research data.

Over the years, she has refined her methods, transitioning from digital tools like Roam Research to the tangible satisfaction of paper notes.

Eliška’s approach focuses on capturing information and creating a sustainable system that supports long-term knowledge retention and effective project management. She emphasises that while handwritten notes can be satisfying, they often become inaccessible when needed most.

Digital notes, however, offer easy sorting and retrieval, making them indispensable for professionals who rely on their notes to write articles, white papers, and conduct research.

By establishing a robust note-taking system, professionals can transform scattered thoughts into organised content, enhancing their work and fostering continuous learning.
